When I got up this morning, I couldn't get the M8 to turn on. When I unloaded and reloaded the battery (which the indicator said was full power, though it wasn't quite) the red light blinked, but then it wouldn't turn on. I tried a second battery, fresh off the charger, and that didn't work either. Then I left the battery out for ten minutes, loaded it, and it came right up.

 

Think this is an indicator of trouble in the future, or just a routine blip?

 

I will say that it's very dry and cold here right now, and when I was handling the camera, I was walking around on a woolen oriental carpet...

Hi John,

 

It doesn't necessarily mean the problem will get worse. You just experienced a lockup of the kind that I surveyed about (and then wrote about).

Mabe in addition IR filters, Leica next gonna tell M8 is need earthing wire :D
