Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 19, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Have to say been playing with it for about a hour now on this wedding i shot and just processed and it is identical to ACR as far as raw processing but has some nice tools to it and some nice feature sets. Roderik Posted February 19, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) seems to me it is much slower then the regular raw converter in Bridge.. what should be the real advantage?
like_no_other Posted February 19, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted February 19, 2007 seems to me it is much slower then the regular raw converter in Bridge.. what should be the real advantage? Â I think Adobe implemented (improved?) algorithm's of Raw Shooter as well as they did with ACR 3.7 As a downgrade ACR 3.7 isn't compatible with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 any longer. like_no_other Posted February 19, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Adobe bought Raw Shooters (RAW Converter) technology to implement it's algorithems into Adobe products. That's new in ACR 3.7 and ACR 3.7 as well as Lightroom use these same (new) raw converting algorithm's.

On the one hand version 1.0 offers what I was looking for so far: there are now two camera profiles available for the M8. One is calles "embedded" (was there before) and the other one "ACR 3.6" (new) where the latter one gives much better colour rendition. But now I got mixed up with this version codes - why does it say now ACR 3.6 when today ACR 3.7 has bee released in order to ensure compatibility with Lightroom (which shows a profile called "ACR 3.6"). Can anybody give an answer here?

after further looking into the issue - could it be that ACR 3.7 represents the software as such and the M8-profile within Lightroom (called ACR 3.6) is a different issue? So there is no M8-profile called ACR 3.7 (which I was expecting)?
Roderik Posted February 19, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted February 19, 2007 And with a NEF file from nikon the only choise you have is ACR 3,3? Â the embedded one from the M8 is rather bad btw
spylaw4 Posted February 19, 2007 Share #15 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Ref the other Lightroom thread - Adobe have sent the link out so pre-ordered programmes can now be downloaded and registered
ustein Posted February 19, 2007 Share #16 Â Posted February 19, 2007 >So there is no M8-profile called ACR 3.7 (which I was expecting)? Â Means that the camera profile was not updated since 3.6. They do not update all profiles with new versions of ACR. Â Â Uwe
carstenw Posted February 19, 2007 Share #17 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Good god Lightroom made a mess of importing my beta library! I had nicely sorted year/month/day folders, per camera, and ended up with a zillion folders all at the same level, with the entire date encoded, I think. Â Can anyone help out with a suggestion for how to get back to something more sane? I still have my original library.
jacksparrow Posted February 19, 2007 Share #18 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Is it Binary Universal for Intel Macs? or does it run with Rosetta?
Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 19, 2007 Share #19 Â Posted February 19, 2007 It's Universal and one reason it has my interest. It is very fast when you export the image
mitchell Posted February 19, 2007 Share #20 Â Posted February 19, 2007 Does Lightroom support two displays the way PS does? It seems crowded on one. Â Thanks, Â Mitchell
