Lode Posted February 18, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted February 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sure the Foveon sensor is excellent but they are some tradeoffs so far: size, no high ISOs, Sigma body... Â I agree, and we've also seen the Polaroid debacle.
Guest stnami Posted February 18, 2007 Share #22  Posted February 18, 2007 Might be a fun thing to have in the bag, no?... It will be more than fun, being able to use colour from a slightly difference stance is a bonus, lets hope the blues are not plagued with the purple tinge as with the 9/10 images. Sigma DP1 will be a most welcome addition, Leica people yap about cutting edge and being different here is another chance . The M8 is still the best B&W camera on the market, those without one download the files on Uwe's site and have a play and you will see why, download and give LightZone a try at the same time Workflow Contest @Digital Outback Photo   Yea I am looking foreward to my world being coloured with a Sigma DP1 28mmm ................... carstenw Posted February 18, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted February 18, 2007 The DP1 is very neat, but the one major downside to it (apart from having a Sigma rather than a Leica lens) is the maximum aperture: f/4. That just kills it for a lot of the uses I would have for such a camera. f/2.8 might be acceptable, but the killer lens for that camera would be the equivalent of a 28 Cron. carstenw Posted February 21, 2007 Share #27 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice idea, but half the M lenses would poke a hole in that Try collapsing your 50/2.8 on that!
