carstenw Posted February 18, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted February 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hmm, what a shame. It is just a tiny bit too small for what I want. I guess I will order the Sebatiao and see how that works out. I wish I could check it out in person somewhere in Berlin... Does anyone know of a place which stocks these in Europe? carcam Posted February 18, 2007 Author Share #22  Posted February 18, 2007 Carsten This is my first attemp at posting pictures... so hopefully it will work. The bag, as photographed, holds the M8 with the 24mm mounted, a CV 15 in one side pocket and a 35mm Cron in the other. The CV and Cron could be stacked to make room for another lens.  The dimensions (in inches) are 10.5 long, 4.5 deep, and 6 high. It make a very nice compact package.  Mike- I started with the AA Evans Walker bag which is similar in size to yours. It has nice padding and a high quality bag but it was tight for the M8 with a couple lenses. I was also worried about the zipper scratching the camera since it was snug going in and out.  Biglouis- I share your thoughts on the 28-50-75 being close focal lengths. I find the 35/1.4 on the camera most of the time and I'm surprised how often I use it wide open. If I went to the 28-50-75, I would get better range but the 28 would be on most of the time and I might miss the extra stop... I do find I really like the 50 lux- much nicer, less obtrusive lens hood, f1.4 is very sharp and useful, a little close for being on the camera all the time but I'm not a real comfortable "in your face" photographer so I find I like the extra distance. It would make sense to go with the 90/2.0 instead of the 75 but I like the ease of focusing, sharpness, and small size better on the 75 cron. Besides, what fun would it be if there were only 2 or 3 good lense choices and we had nothing to deliberate over.  Guy- thanks for the grip recommendation. Tony Rose (Popflash- wonderful person to work with and great resource) is sending one out next week.  Thanks for all the input.
geoffreyg Posted February 21, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Another take is: Â 28 f. 28 - for small size, general shooting lens. Give up the extra stop to gain small size. Â CV 15 - for the wide shot, modest price, small size. Â Tri-Elmar 28/35/50 for general all purpose sunny day, and the occaisional 50 mm short tele shot. Â Now what's next? the 75 'cron, for tele use, and good available light? Or the 90 f. 4 macro setup? Â Does anyone have either a 50 or 75 setup that focuses a bit closer? Does the 75 help here - not for macro, but for the odd 8x10 or 11x14 to be copied? Â Geoff
girphoto Posted February 22, 2007 Share #24 Â Posted February 22, 2007 The Domke F-5XB is great for the M 8 system, I carry one with one M 8 body with 28f2.8 attached, put into the bag on the vertical separated by foam dividers. with a 90 2.8 , a 50 nokton1.5 on either side and a cv 15 4.5 with finder on the far side. in the front pocket a small flash and sd cards. A nice change from a full Canon System. Photos to follow on next post Gary Gary I. Rothstein, Photography

roubaix Posted February 22, 2007 Share #26 Â Posted February 22, 2007 Carcam, I envy you. Very, very nice system. Â Mike, I bought the same bag about a month ago and I love it. It is a "murse" but as my wife says, I'm embracing my "metro." I fits my beloved M8 with 35 Cron as well as a 90 Elmarit with one slot left over, usally for my wallet and a small water bottle. Even took it up Camelback in Phoenix (per Guy's suggestion) a week ago. Â For me, just missing a wider angle, thinking 21 and the 1.5X viewfinder (and a Nocti, and a WATE, and a ...) roubaix Posted February 22, 2007 Share #28 Â Posted February 22, 2007 Guy, Â Some nice amatuer backlit cacti images- still getting the hang of this thing. Some great shots in Turks and Caicos the following week followed by shots of the family in the Philadelphia snow. Now in Disney. Mucho processing to work on next week, then I'll post. Like Lightroom, but still need C1 for white balance etc. Â Cheers, Â Peter

woodyspedden Posted February 23, 2007 Share #30  Posted February 23, 2007 Hand grip. May want to look at that. i can't shoot without it guy  I just got my Luigi half case with drop down back flap and absolutely love it. Magnificent to see such quality workmanship to complement this great camera. I got the one with the grip and now have added the Jim Caravuso wrist strap which attaches to the camera or case using Luigi's hand machined screw which attaches inside to the tripod mount of the M8. The way the strap connects is by using an Arca Swiss plate which screw attaches to the machined screw at the outside of the case. So you end up with an ideal hand holder strap and at the same time the easiest way to attach the M8 to the tripod.  I have looked at all the other postings for such options on the M8 on this and other threads and can find nothing better at the moment.  Jim's address is CamAdapter.com - Camera adapters for microscopes. Take a look. I have nothing to do with him or his company, just want to make known to all on this wonderful forum what is possible. If it would be of help, I would be happy to post images of what this configuration looks like.  Best Woody
hammam Posted February 23, 2007 Share #31  Posted February 23, 2007 Where can you get these?  Somebody here recomended the Screen Patronus. I ordered a set of three on-line (« http://www.screenpatronus.com/ »), and got them in two weeks. It is very good. Perfect size and thickness, easy to peel off the protector (unlike the dreaded Optex thing), easy to apply and NO bubbles.
