Lightroom 3 from Leica

You are allowed to use it on two machines of your own. One desktop and one laptop, for example. If you change your hardware, you need to deactivate the software on the old laptop, thereby freeing up one more use on a new machine.

This is the correct procedure. With Photoshop Adobe strictly enforces the 2 computer restriction. However, based on my experience, they don't enforce it with Lightroom.

Deactivate it by uninstalling while connected to the internet. If you have problems activating a second copy after uninstalling call Adobe. I had a hard drive crash which had my second copy of Lightroom and Photoshop and had to call to get my second copied activated again when I installed it on my new drive. Adobe was understanding and very helpful in my experience.

Hi Dave. Do you have Adobes phone number handy?

BTW, where did you get their number from?

I'm getting ready to Deactivate / Activate LR3

and with my luck i'll probably need their number.

You can PM me if you like.....thanks!!!

There is no activate/deactivate routine with Lightroom. It is different in that respect to Photoshop.

As long as you comply with the EULA there is no restriction on a new install when you provide the serial number.

I find LR to almost useless. The worst interface I've ever seen. I'll stick to Photoshop.

It's a thread-jack, but nevertheless:

In my experience it's not a question of LR or PS but LR and PS.

LR is a picture management software (database oriented) with some build-in editoral tools (some of these are quite good, like e.g. the noise reduction tool).

If you tend not to do a lot of correction after the shot and primarily need an efficient way to manage your pictures, LR is a nice tool. If you do some more editing, then PS is a much more powerfull tool.
