johnloumiles Posted October 19, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted October 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) ..after a 2.5 month journey to Leica NJ. This isn't a post to slam Leica's repair schedule ( I think 2.5 months for a repair says it all) but really it's more about the fact I have been without it for so long I'm having trouble getting inspired to use it. Â In it's absence I have been shooting with a M6 and a RD-1. I'm sorry for any fans out there but besides ergonomics I was not loving the RD-1 and it was quickly dropped for a full time return to film. Nothing is wrong with the Epson technically and if you really nail a picture it can come out quite well ( I think I had two shots nailed after a month of use) but for the most part the technology showed its age when it came to image quality. Â The M6 has been great and I have thoroughly enjoyed it but it has definitely slowed down my work process. I was on fire with the M8 before it broke down now after a layoff I'm looking to re-ignite the passion for Leica and shooting as a whole. Anyone else have a similar story? dsj Posted October 20, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted October 20, 2011 I have to second that. excellent use of 4ormat, too. Â edit: to answer your initial question: i have something like that going on from time to time. sometimes i see a lot of things have my camera in my hand and ready to shoot all the time and sometimes i carry it with me for a week without taking it out of the bag for a week. i would recommend to carry it with you all the time to get started when you feel like it. cheers
johnloumiles Posted October 21, 2011 Author Share #4 Â Posted October 21, 2011 Thank you both! Really appreciate you took the time to check out my site. Dominique, you are killing it! I love your images and I definitely feel a kinship between our work. Funny that we both use 4ormat as well. Â I followed your advice and carried my M8 everywhere I went today and posted some of the shots in the M8 forum. Â Thanks again
