M8 is back....

..after a 2.5 month journey to Leica NJ. This isn't a post to slam Leica's repair schedule ( I think 2.5 months for a repair says it all) but really it's more about the fact I have been without it for so long I'm having trouble getting inspired to use it.

In it's absence I have been shooting with a M6 and a RD-1. I'm sorry for any fans out there but besides ergonomics I was not loving the RD-1 and it was quickly dropped for a full time return to film. Nothing is wrong with the Epson technically and if you really nail a picture it can come out quite well ( I think I had two shots nailed after a month of use) but for the most part the technology showed its age when it came to image quality.

The M6 has been great and I have thoroughly enjoyed it but it has definitely slowed down my work process. I was on fire with the M8 before it broke down now after a layoff I'm looking to re-ignite the passion for Leica and shooting as a whole. Anyone else have a similar story?

I have to second that. excellent use of 4ormat, too.

edit:

to answer your initial question: i have something like that going on from time to time. sometimes i see a lot of things have my camera in my hand and ready to shoot all the time and sometimes i carry it with me for a week without taking it out of the bag for a week. i would recommend to carry it with you all the time to get started when you feel like it.

cheers

Thank you both! Really appreciate you took the time to check out my site. Dominique, you are killing it! I love your images and I definitely feel a kinship between our work. Funny that we both use 4ormat as well.

I followed your advice and carried my M8 everywhere I went today and posted some of the shots in the M8 forum.

Thanks again
