'Selfe-made' lens coding

Dear friends

Was playing arround to code my lenses 'by hand'. Based on the excellent work find here in this forum (collection of codes ... - thanks a lot for this!) I tryed to fix it by several ideas ("painting" , using the "template" and others) but not that successfully at all. Was at the end not thinking that it's well adopted to the M8 ...

Then I prepared a drawing for a printout foil 12 x 2mm by drawing SW and printed it on standard laser - overhead - foil. Cutting out (it's funny small work for my fat fingers :) ) and fitted it to the sensor of my camera. Coding-Sensor is a little "caved" so it will be ok to lay it in only. Will not slide away.

As I designed a " 100000" code it will fit to the 50mm Summi 1,4 asph. or vice versa "000001" to the 21mm Elmar asph. (It has to be applied with the corresponding lens because of additional internal reading of frame-switch). Wrong code or lens will not work (nothing added to EXIF).

And it worked fine with fitting lens. EXIF was adopted to "new" info "50mm" resp. "21mm"

There is enough space to fit the small foil to sensor without touching lens bajonet.

Like to hear about your impressions on this.

It's nothing for changing lenses all time - but if you use a single lens outfit or changing only now and then it may be worth to think about ...
