D-Lux 5: What's this purple band?

I bought a D-Lux 5 this time last year, whilst visiting Solms and Wetzlar during a family holiday. :) The link below opens a video, of a talent quest my daughter entered. Bit of a laugh.

At 02.39 you will see a purple band running down to the bottom, from the right end of her keyboard. It may result from the high contrast between blown highlights at the top of screen and the black curtain lower down. Still, it's not something I've seen before. Any clues? This was Motion JPEG footage shot by my wife, with the Film Mode on Dynamic, hence the colours. The main footage was taken with a Sony HD video camera.

So what's your diagnosis?

Also, has anyone figured out how to open AVCHD Lite files for use by Final Cut Express?

Rick.

It’s a mild case of smearing, an issue all interline-transfer CCDs are suffering from in movie recordings and during live view. It’s something you have to live with; light sources or other extremely bright spots in the image trigger it and thus should be avoided.
