Albert Andersen Posted October 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. For my M9P I have just bought the 28 mm Elmarit lens. The first one I got was impossible to mount on the body – it was too tight too turn to the locked position. I went back to my dealer, and tried another lens, but with the same fail. The third lens I tested by the dealer was ok to mount, so I wonder if there are “fake” lenses on the market, or it is a manufacturing fail? I have forgot the serial no. for these lenses, but it starts wit 413xxxx. All papers, box etc. looks like original Leica. It is bought by a Leica dealer in Germany. The new 28 mm lens I got now has serial no. 4124892. Can I be sure it is “original” Leica? I have no problem wit my 50 mm Summilux or Summicron lenses. It is easy to mount. I have asked in Solms, but have not got any reply.

bill Posted October 11, 2011 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2011 There are no "fake" Leica M lenses. Regards, Bill
swamiji Posted October 11, 2011 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2011 I have a 50mm f2.8 retractible, that is stiff when mounting. The mount tolerances can be small. It's par for the course, not to worry.
