A month ago I was in Rome to discuss a custom half case with Luigi, it finally arrived.

Its made from distressed green, with the leather reversed.

Very excited to wear it in.

I posted more pictures on my blog, if you want to check them out.

Well...um...it's...ah, beauty is in the eye of the,,,something...

OK, let's think about this.

1. You like it...GREAT.

2. If Ireland had a national photographic team I'm sure they would like it.

3. If the Grinch had an M9 this would be his first choice of a case and strap. It matches his green eggs and ham.

4. Green swede leather with green stitching. Well, everybody will know it's yours...

5. Are you a Notre Dame alumni by any chance?

6. Moss growing on a rock comes to mind for some reason???

7. Don't worry, there's no fungus on the lens elements...it's all on the case and strap!!!!

Well, it's your money and apparently you ordered and received exactly what your wanted, so who am I (or we) to judge or comment. Well, maybe a comment or two. Regardless, enjoy what I'm sure is an outstandingly magnificent quality case and strap.

Moss Green...suede leather...neon green stitching...well, now I know that anything is possible...

I hesitate to post this because it isn't good manners to say things that are uncomplimentary like this, but since you posted it for our consideration, I imagine you are quite prepared to accept all opinions.

And anyway, you're very happy with it, and that's what matters.

But I find it gruesome on many levels.

Enjoy and be happy.

I'm afraid I'm in the "no" camp too...

Actually it reminds me of when I was a child. We lived in Weybridge, as did John Lennon at the time. He had a Rolls Royce painted in psychadelic colours; it looked like an explosion in a paint factory. It was parked in Weybridge High Street one day and my Mum, who was an inveterate petrolhead, stopped beside it and said sadly "look, it's crying..."

Regards,

Bill

Such an unusual case is bound to be contentious. All that matters is that you chose it and you are proud to show it to us and clearly like it. No harm in that. It certainly adds a worn look to the camera.

I ordered several cases at Luigi.

I was "half" satisfied with it.

He made some messes with my order and especially with a personalized engraving. But in the end he was very correct with me.

I can say Ciesta cases (they can also offer "tailor made" ones) are better quality and cheaper.

You are right, Sir ! Copies and imitations are always better that the originally created items ! :-)

Very interesting. Congrats on your new and unusual half case. Unique for sure!

I am very interested in seeing this in about a year. Should have a pretty cool patina to it from regular use.
