This is sligtlhy of topic. I have a nice Elmarit M-90, fairly late unit, but it still suffered from quite bad fogging. I sent it to Solms, and they promtly informed that it can be cleaned but *some residue will remain*. And so it did. Probably not enough to affect pictures, but this is something to check when buying. I was quite surpriced to learn that such a recent lens can suffer from nonrepairable degree of foggin.

Sometimes if the lens has been stored in its leather case and in a slightly damp environment, it will have fogging more than others left out in the open air. Many older homes around thew work actually have mildew and mold in them which leather seems to like.
