Eastgreenlander Posted October 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am positively surprised at the performance of the film. The grain looks more pleasant than portra 400 IMO. It might have something to do with that I do my own processing with a Jobo CPE2 and Digibase chemicals, I just don't know. I know these examples are only 900 x 900 but it looks great in larger view as well. I can highly recommend this film! If any of you have tried this film, you're welcome to post some examples. Advertisement Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Hi Eastgreenlander, Take a look here Kodak Portra 800. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted October 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2011 I think that there is a greenish cast to these, which some colour balancing will easily correct. Nice fine grain though.I will have to try some before it disappears. Thanks
tgray Posted October 2, 2011 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2011 It is a wonderful film. It's a shame more people don't use it.
StS Posted October 3, 2011 Share #4 Posted October 3, 2011 I used a combination of Portra 400 and Portra 800 at the wedding of a friend. The results from both fllms match seamlessly, they complement each other very well. Maybe I'm too optimistic here, but the production machines from Agfa Photo were bought by another company (Adox), after Agfa Photo filed for bankruptcy in 2005. Agfapan films can still be bought over here, while some of the more specialized films were lost. Stefan
