Ian Fozzard Posted October 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yesterday I dropped by Digilux 3 and discovered that the aluminium look-alike top of the body is indeed plastic! Seriously though, I now have a crack across the top LHS corner of the body which goes right through the AF assist lens. Does this sound repairable or is this body now for the bin? Any advice gratefully received. I am tempted to consider simply using the 4 lenses I have on a different 4/3rds body (Olympus perhaps?), so any advice on this would also be welcome (apologies that this is not "pure Leica"), many thanks in advance Ian Fozzard
Advertisement Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Hi Ian Fozzard, Take a look here Digilux 3 body repairs?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted October 2, 2011 Share #2 Posted October 2, 2011 Call Leica in Mayfair and ask their advice. I would expect Solms to be able to repair it for you.
stevev1969 Posted October 7, 2011 Share #3 Posted October 7, 2011 I'd agree with Mr Barton but rather than lose the ability to use my 4/3rds lenses when my D3 finally dies, I got an Oly 4/3rds body, one of the last E-30's. Ffordes have a nice one in at the moment. Be prepared is my motto. Hope yours can be fixed.
