Brand new M9 Batteries - Loading Error

Dear fellow sufferers,

OK, it's just a minor thing but still: I bought 2 batteries with my M9-P. One charged without flaws but when I tried to charge the other one, both LEDs of the charger were blinking - loading error.

So I returned that one to the Leica Store where I bought it. They gave me a new one without debate and I bought 2 additional ones. (Just to get prepared for the Vietnam trip later this year.) Now, when I try to charge these, it's the same loading error in the charger.

I put them into the cam, took some photos, put them back into the charger and again: loading error.

Any ideas or tricks someone? Is it the charger and not the batteries? Or is there nothing else left than to return the batteries again?

Perhaps someone can help me.

Cheers

Jochim

Take them back to the shop where you bought them and see if they have a charger to try.

Does the one that charged no problem still charge OK?

There may be a faulty batch of batteries I suppose and the 3 you've bought were part of that same batch.

I got my new M9 from Berlin less than 2 weeks ago. First battery OK. Second battery - flashing LEDs. Sent it back and waiting for a new one.

Sorry to hear of your battery problem. I hope it is solved soon. Vietnam is amazingly beautiful and I wish you a fantastic trip!

I am in love with the M9. What a magical tool!

Peace from Sweden.

The Leica Shop in Berlin now tested my battery and it works with their charger... They will send me a new battery anyway and ask me to see if I can charge the first battery again successfully. If not, they will replace my charger. Good service!

Owin,

that's the funny thing: The batteries that didn't work were wrapped in bubble wrap while the other was wrapped in some sort of cellophane. Maybe there's really a faulty batch.

Cheers

Heureka,

good advice. I'd better bring my charger to the Leica Store next time as well so they can test it.

And greetings to Sweden. The country always enchants me when I'm there.

@ Owin: Yes, the other batteries charge just fine so far. I go and check with the Leica Store whether it's the charger or the batteries or both.

Best

That´s good to hear JayTee! My first real trip was to Luzern. I love Switzerland! Is there a Leica Store close to you?

Yes, Switzerland can be very beautiful and Lucerne is one of the most beautiful cities here, together with Bern.

As far as I know, there is no Leica store in Switzerland. The next one is in Munich. I'm often in Munich since my girlfriend ("min sambo" if I remember my Swedish correctly) is living there, so I go to the Leica Store from time to time for this nitty gritty stuff as long as Swiss customs allows.

I have yet to see Bern. Can´t wait (to see the rest of the world!). :) Great that you get to visit Munich often. Now you have an excuse to visit Vienna too. And even Solms.

"Min sambo" is perfect if it´s a girlfriend you live with. If not she is your "flickvän". I´m impressed either way!

Ha det så bra du också!

Discharging here...
