not really

Early 1A cameras (serial numbers below 60501) converted to a 111a synch are rare. The conversion was expensive but was available by the factory in wetzler until the late 50s. I happen to have 340xx and it is one of my favorate SM Leica cameras. I am fond of it because it is in black paint and has the four screw top plate as found on the early 1As. Also it has some nickel plated parts (original) and the new parts such as the synch are in chrome. It also has a very rough volcanite cover as found in the mid 50s 111f cameras. Also it would be better to call it a Leica 11 synch as it does not have the slow speeds. These early ones in good condition go for over 1K because of their relative rarity
