ryanpeck Posted September 21, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Years ago I lost the original hood for my noctilux and, not wanting to spend the crazy asking price for a replacement original, was wondering if anyone has found a good alternative. I have the f/1 nocti with the 58mm threads, I believe it is the 2nd version of the lens. The image is the version I have. any help appreciated, cheers ryan
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Hi ryanpeck, Take a look here Replacement Hood for Noctilux?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
roydonian Posted September 22, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 22, 2011 The original is (to my mind) an ugly plastic item. In about three weeks time I'm planning to go to my nearest friendly pseudo-Voigtlander dealer, and try that brand's 58mm screw-in vented hood. I'll let you know how this works out. Best regards, Doug
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted September 22, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2011 >>orchid space<< and others deal with screw in vented lenshoods, try one of these. In case the diameter fits, there should be no problem. V/C seems to be a good idea as well. Best GEPORG
peter_n Posted October 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted October 1, 2011 Ryan you emailed me almost 3 weeks ago about this and I PM'd you immediately with the information about my hood from heavystar (pic below). You didn't like this hood?
Gerard Posted October 3, 2011 Share #5 Posted October 3, 2011 A shame there's not a similar hood with a 60mm thread (for the V1 75 Lux).
peter_n Posted October 5, 2011 Share #6 Posted October 5, 2011 I got my Noctilux years ago and one of the reasons I waited for an E58 is that I had read back then that 60mm filters and hoods were hard to come by. I use filters quite a bit but a nice little short protective hood like this was a real bonus.
roydonian Posted October 9, 2011 Share #7 Posted October 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I went to see my nearest Voigtlander dealer a few days ago, but they did not have the LH-7 (the 58mm vented hood for the f1.1 Nokton) in stock. Both Heliopan and B+W offer a short 58mm metal hood. These are very similar, but have no flare, extending forward with the same diameter as the exterior of the lens mount. I have the Heliopan version (ES 58), which is about 18mm deep, and have used this successfully on my M8.2. However, test images taken with my new M9-P show significant vignetting of the corners of the image. Best regards, Doug
