tbenschop Posted September 15, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted September 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is is possible to use bracketing with continuous shooting on the X1? I would like to take 3 or four pictures with different exposure (EV) settings, to create a HDR from. How do I do that?
Advertisement Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Hi tbenschop, Take a look here Is bracketing with X1 possible?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
trylab Posted September 15, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted September 15, 2011 Yes, auto-bracketing is possible! Push the EV +/- button on your camera (above the Menu button).
tbenschop Posted September 15, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted September 15, 2011 Thanks for your answer! In the meanwhile I did some more Googling and saw that you have to press the EV button twice to get in the bracketing menu. Can't wait to try it out when I get back home! richam Posted September 17, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted September 17, 2011 I had a "delightful surprise" when I tried HDR/bracketing for the X-1. The bracket shots occur so quickly that you can get good HDR shots handheld: Â http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-x1-forum/141792-x1-hand-held-hdr-delightful-surprise.html
spylaw4 Posted September 20, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted September 20, 2011 I never knew this until this thread. Should have read the book! Tried it out - very useful! And effective!
ChiILX1 Posted September 21, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted September 21, 2011 Bracketing is sweet- especially in varying light conditions. Â You can't use it in continuous mode. Â Just hit EV twice and then choose the increment. + X will take one shot -X and one shot +X in addition to the regular exposure, just with one touch to the shutter button. Â It's especially great when you are a tourist and have to ask some idiot to take your picture. Take my word for it that explaining half shutter exposure metering to a person that uses their flash on glass-enclosed exhibits is a lost cause . Just be sure to tell them to hold it steady for 5 seconds after pressing the button.
