Shanghait Posted September 12, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted September 12, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the past few weeks here in Shanghai, there has been a significant increase in lens availability. Ive also noticed some of the harder lenses to get trickling into the classifieds and ebay. ( 35 luxs ) Â Lots of new 35 luxs and 50 luxs at the photomall. Â One shop I visited today had 10 copies of 75/2.5s and 7 copies of 28mm/crons. Not the most popular lenses, but still.... Â Perhaps Leica's promise of increased capacity is finally bearing fruit. Hopefully the prices start to reflect that.
Advertisement Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hi Shanghait, Take a look here Increased Lens Availability?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ivar B Posted September 14, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted September 14, 2011 Are they being offered at list price or with a heavy price premium?
Shanghait Posted September 14, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted September 14, 2011 Hardly close to USA list, but close to list price here in China. International list prices vary significantly because of currency fluctuation..... Â Markup also varies according to lens popularity and supply. Its still about 7,000 USD for a 35 lux fle, and 13,000 for a noctilux. But 28 cron's are very close to USA list price @ 4000 USD. Â Im hopeful though. Never seen so many lenses in so many stores here.
bpalme Posted September 14, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted September 14, 2011 Doesn't really matter if they're selling far above list. I can get that here in the U.S. anytime.

True, however, my point being that one store having so many copies at any price is irregular.
bpalme Posted September 15, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted September 15, 2011 Yeah, it's good to see. Hopefully there's a light at the end of the tunnel from being gouged.
HeinzX Posted September 15, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted September 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Situation in Europe seems to be another one. With exception of the Summarits the situation regarding delivery of the lenses is very tight.
Ivar B Posted September 15, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted September 15, 2011 Situation in Europe seems to be another one. With exception of the Summarits the situation regarding delivery of the lenses is very tight. Â True. I just ordered a 1.4/35 FLE from my dealer Meister Camera in Hamburg and they are not able to confirm any delivery date. Of course this is not up to them either and I don`t mind waiting. BendixMC Posted September 15, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted September 15, 2011 I think Meister is conservative about delivery dates, and rightfully so. When I ordered my 50 Lux in the first week of August, they told me up to 6 month waiting. 3 weeks later, I got a call ...
Alisdair Posted September 16, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted September 16, 2011 FWIW, I received my 35/1.4 fle at the end of July after a 6 and 1/2 month wait. Toronto, Canada.
Shanghait Posted September 16, 2011 Author Share #11 Â Posted September 16, 2011 recent correspondence with someone over at popflash: Â Deliveries have increased somewhat. We're probably receive lenses with the same consistency as most of 2010, but since there was quite a drought from March-June, it seems we are receiving more items. tdtaylor Posted September 16, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted September 16, 2011 Last year I received a 50 lux from Rahn in about 3 months. I am next up on the 35 lux FLE, but have been waiting 14 months. Hope to see it soon.
