AlbertoDeRoma Posted September 3, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) It was a difficult decision, as much as I loved and appreciated the quality of my M8 (upgraded to 8.2 shutter, frame lines and sapphire) I ended up taking the Digilux 2 with me much more often. It's hard to explain, but I bonded with the D2 in a way that I never quite did with the M8, it possibly had something to do with the M8 manual focus that gave my no longer youthful eyes some trouble - especially in low light. I have some seller remorse, but I like the idea of concentrating on one camera and learning to use it even better. At the same time, I am toying with the idea of using some of the funds from the M8 to buy a Fuji X100 for a compact I can always carry with me, but for now I am going to do some more bonding with the D2. I've settled on the D2, and just want to learn enough to get everything it has to offer. There's a ways to go . . .
orla Posted September 4, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 4, 2011 I bought an X100 earlier this year and combine it with my old Digilux D2. I find it to be an excellent combo. Both cameras deliver extremely well. The X100 has so good low light performance. Whilst the D2 with the zoom among other things is a great portrait camera. Guest happytogger Posted September 4, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 4, 2011 Never having a M8, yet loving my D2 i understand. My D2 did go to a good home for various reasons. Yet if i was commissioned to do a book, a pro shoot (so long as too shallow dof & high dr iso were not needed) i would choose the D2 due to its lens in a blink of an eye.
