Â I must be luckiest person under the sun over the last 30 years bought countless lenses and never had loose lens the way you describe it but than photoblogs are recent invention, back to your question... Â a) - everything is possible but does it affect performance of the lens, it could be just subjective feel, and more importantly does it affect your photography in any way. Â - yes they can.
