shootinglulu Posted August 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today I had a go at using the fine jpeg with b+w setting on the M9 and edited using LR b+w pre-sets and sliders...I think my results have been good and the process was more satisfying and simple for me than converting from colour using silver efex pro. Does anyone else do this?

Jeff S Posted August 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 27, 2011 M8.2, no JPEG, no Silver Efex...RAW + LR is all I need. Extremely easy once entire workflow (from camera to screen to printer to paper) is in place. The key is getting the workflow down to produce high quality prints. I never used a camera preview in my b/w film days, and I see no reason to use one now. The process from camera to print is quicker than with my former darkroom, but the same disciplined workflow is essential. Jeff
shootinglulu Posted August 28, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted August 28, 2011 Thanks Jeff, yes nailing down a workflow is important, I tend to wimp out with too much choice.

I am using raw..I do try to remember to also set WB ..
