john_j Posted August 24, 2011 Share #21 Posted August 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings- This is another vote for a 50 mm. It's my most used lens; I have two, one for the M9 or M6 with transparency film the other for an M6 with TriX. I next like the 35 mm, it gives a little extra in tight spaces and more depth of field for less focus worries with fast moving subjects by selecting the f/stop and using the scale(as was pointed out in an earlier post. I have Summicrons for their size and value. I also have a 90 mm 2.8 that rarely gets used but is nice to have (again nice size and weight), a 75 mm 1.4; great lens but heavy and bulky so I tend not to travel with it and a 28 mm 2.8. This I used with my M8 but not much since I traded my 8 for a 9. An old Summitar because I like the 50 so much get use from time to time as well. I do not travel far with it either. Lens selection is very personal. You may want to use what you have for a while and then re-evaluate. You also have another camera with longer lenses to fill in for now.
