sauron Posted August 18, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted August 18, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Had one of these on order since April and have just been told "there is an unspecified problem in production at the present time and it will be at least two months before delivery". Anyone else heard of any problems?

adan Posted August 18, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted August 18, 2011 Actually, my Leica rep - IN APRIL - said there was about a 6-month wait for the 75 'cron, based on her back-order list (I believe there were at that time 200 75s back-ordered in the US as a whole). So two months from now is still in line with her prediction then. Â My guess is that the "unspecified" problem is the same problem that is affecting 75% of Leica lenses at the moment - demand is simply 300% of what Leica is set up to build, even with NO problems. wattsy Posted August 18, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted August 18, 2011 been told "there is an unspecified problem in productionat the present time and it will be at least two months before delivery". Â Probably just means the workforce are currently sunning themselves on Mediterranean beaches. I recently (mid-July) obtained this lens after a three day wait (this is where a good dealer can help) so I guess it is still being produced. Â Incidentally, this is not the first time somebody has reported their dealer recently coming out with a "there is an unspecified problem" or "Leica are working on a new version" explanation (aka a load of bollocks). sblutter Posted August 19, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted August 19, 2011 I'm very happy with my quickly received and very sharp Voigtlander 75mm, 2.5 Â Its nice to have this seldom used length - affordably

skeleton212 Posted August 19, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted August 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm the guy that bought the 75mm Summicron from B&H a few days ago - it just arrived. Absolutely beautiful. Â Everyone is different - I really like this focal length, for me it just feels right. I think it matches up well with the 35mm as a two lens kit. I think it matches up well with the 35mm as a two lens kit. Â I could not agree more! Received mine about two months ago. The 75 Cron works extremely well on full frame Ms. Even on the M8, it is a delight for portraits. It takes some time to get a feel for the focus, but when you nail it the sharpness is truly amazing. budrichard Posted August 20, 2011 Share #10  Posted August 20, 2011 Same here. I have a 90 cron that I haven't used since the 75 showed up  Same, well almost. I have used my 90mm Cron ASPH a few times in the 3 years I have owned this lens but certainly the 75mm is a better fit to an M. Amazingly tack sharp. Only lens I use for portraits now.-Dick
tchoi Posted August 20, 2011 Share #11 Â Posted August 20, 2011 I dont know, but I do know that b&h had one yesterday in stock, but it is sold now. Â got a note a couple days ago from robert white (the UK leica dealer) that they received a 75 cron that they were holding for me (based on a request made back in december). I bought one on the used market and so told them I didn't need it. probably already sold but you never know and worth a call. I use a 35 & 75 traveling with very occasional 24 use. The 35 and 75 work really well together. Congrats on the new lens!
egrossman Posted August 25, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted August 25, 2011 I thought about the 75mm Summicron but in the end bought a mint 75mm Summilux and haven't look back. The Summilux is indeed a little larger but the weight difference between the two lenses is negligible (I held one in each hand to compare). For portraits, I like the look of the Summilux wide open. If I need it to be sharp I just stop it down. Â I hear people complain about the weight but honestly I don't notice it at all coming from a Canon background! Those L lenses were heavy! sauron Posted February 25, 2012 Author Share #16 Â Posted February 25, 2012 UK. I had the lens on order with Ace Cameras in Bath since April 2011. Stayed with them and they eventually got one. I did email a few other shops and they all reported on back order unable to give a date of receiving the next one.
