iangee Posted August 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Now I have an M9 I find the M8 little used so will sell it. It is black and most of the white paint in the 'M8' designation came out, so following advice here I gently removed the rest. Will this affect sale price? Should I attempt to repaint it with matt paint? Ian
Advertisement Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hi iangee, Take a look here Renew white paint. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gerard Posted August 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2011 If it were mine, I would not repaint it. There is risk of it looking like a bodge job, while many will prefer the look without the glowing M8 logo. Mine is also like this, and I love it - consider it an M8.2-p. Your camera is what it is. I prefer to see/buy honest products over those that have been 'doctored'.

bocaburger Posted August 21, 2011 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2011 If it were mine I would re-paint it. I did it with an M6 which the previous owner had purposely blacked out the white engravings. I removed all the paint, then filled the engravings with Testor's flat white. Finally I used a toothpick and cotton saturated in thinner to carefully wipe away any slight overspill around the edges of the engraving. Came out as good as the guy in the factory does it. But yes, if that kind of job isn't your forte, then better to leave it be than make it look like crap.
