freusen Posted August 13, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted August 13, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Summicron-M 28 mm f/2.0 ASPH it's a dream of a lens. Â Mostly I take 2 bodies with me, one with the 28mm Cron and another with the 50mm Cron and have no need to change lenses. Once I had a 28-35-50mm Tri-Elmar and for a long time it was my most used lens, but I disliked the maximum aperture of f/4.0 and the way it changed focal length. ____________ FrankR

adan Posted August 13, 2011 Share #15 Â Posted August 13, 2011 IMHO - about like asking "If you could only play one note on the piano keyboard, which would you choose?" Â But if forced to choose - 21 pre-ASPH Elmarit (also, G above middle C).

bocaburger Posted August 13, 2011 Share #17 Â Posted August 13, 2011 If you were going away for one week, to the seashore or the desert, or whatever, and could only take one lens for your ff M, what would it be? Â I get that this is an exercise in the hypothetical, but the truth is the only reason I spent the money on the M system is for the flexibility of multiple lenses. Otherwise something like an X1 or X100 would suffice.
Keith (M) Posted August 13, 2011 Share #18 Â Posted August 13, 2011 Given that it is a condition that I find difficult to envisage having to fulfil, it has caused some head-scratching. On the basis that I could only ever seeing it being necessary where compactness and weight outweigh most other considerations, it would have to be my delightful, dinky little Summaron 35mm f2.8. likealeica Posted August 13, 2011 Author Share #19 Â Posted August 13, 2011 One lens, for discipline, to lighten the load, to see the scenery, not just the lens mount, to zoom with one's feet... Not so illogical, I think.
shootinglulu Posted August 13, 2011 Share #20 Â Posted August 13, 2011 If this is a fantasy break, i'll take my 28 Summilux asph, it renders so beautifully the pictures make you swoon!..
