flavio Posted February 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M4 is broken? This afternoon I was going through the country as usual shooting with my M4 when, after 25 shots, shutter kept still and did not go on to 26 position. I got off the film from inside and tried without any film. Nothing. I cannot do anything. Of course my local reparing lab is closed and have to wait until Monday. Any similar experience? It seems that the impossible has happened. I kept up shooting using my Nikon Coolpix. The small digital helping a mechanical Leica. I can't believe it yet. Advertisement Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Hi flavio, Take a look here M4 shutter does not work anymore. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sender Posted February 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2007 I had something like you describe happen to both my M4 and M2. It was a shutter curtain problem, and I had both cameras serviced by Leitz. Hopefully they are good as new. I would expect that this is the type of repair that can be performed by any experienced Leica service person if you do not want to use Leitz.. Guys up there want to realize, but maybe I'll have it back in this week. Cross my fingers. Actually I needed some hours to realize it was really a Leica mechanical failure. Something impossible really happen. Thanks for your message. Flavio
pilot Posted February 12, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2007 I had a problem with my M4, not long after I bought it. The shutter brake failed so I couldn't even wind it. It was out of warranty by then and they charged me an arm and a leg to fix it. Been OK since though. Bryan

flavio Posted February 15, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted February 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Robert, it was told me a shutter curtain problem. Actually when yesterday I was able to see the slides done just before the "event", black "objects" are shown in the far left side of the slide. Probably the beginning of the problem. Saturday morning I will be able to shot again and let you know the result. Ri-cross my fingers. Flavio
