My M4 is broken? This afternoon I was going through the country as usual shooting with my M4 when, after 25 shots, shutter kept still and did not go on to 26 position. I got off the film from inside and tried without any film. Nothing. I cannot do anything. Of course my local reparing lab is closed and have to wait until Monday.

Any similar experience?

It seems that the impossible has happened. I kept up shooting using my Nikon Coolpix. The small digital helping a mechanical Leica. I can't believe it yet.

I had something like you describe happen to both my M4 and M2. It was a shutter curtain problem, and I had both cameras serviced by Leitz. Hopefully they are good as new.

I would expect that this is the type of repair that can be performed by any experienced Leica service person if you do not want to use Leitz..

hello Stuart,

this morning I leave my M4 at the repair lab. Guys up there want to realize, but maybe I'll have it back in this week. Cross my fingers.

Actually I needed some hours to realize it was really a Leica mechanical failure. Something impossible really happen. Thanks for your message.

Hi Robert,

it was told me a shutter curtain problem. Actually when yesterday I was able to see the slides done just before the "event", black "objects" are shown in the far left side of the slide. Probably the beginning of the problem. Saturday morning I will be able to shot again and let you know the result. Ri-cross my fingers.
