Notwithstanding concerns expressed about buying batteries on-line, my order from the *Channel Isle (Jersey) branch of Amazon arrived today - Duracells date coded 2019.

* for those outside the UK, quite a few big retailers have operations based in the Channel Isles for high-turnover, low-value items. From there they can send to UK mainland VAT-free, provided individual packages are valued at less than GBP18 (or is it GBP15 nowadays?)

best-before-date: email question before you buy.

...sounds like your assumption is that customer service operations have full visibility of stock/dispatch operations, christer. Personally, I would hesitate to cite that as a norm.

Hi; ref the above, I had a severe battery drain problem with mine; put a new, quality cr1/3n in, lasted two weeks- switched off ! Put another of the same in, same problem. Sent the camera to Herefordshire for a service by malcolm taylor; all he could find wrong was Dust ! he cleaned this out, used my same batteries, having tested it for two weeks. back to normal now- no problem since... Go figure that one out... regards Jerry H.
