Keith (M) Posted August 5, 2011 Author Share #41 Posted August 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Notwithstanding concerns expressed about buying batteries on-line, my order from the *Channel Isle (Jersey) branch of Amazon arrived today - Duracells date coded 2019. * for those outside the UK, quite a few big retailers have operations based in the Channel Isles for high-turnover, low-value items. From there they can send to UK mainland VAT-free, provided individual packages are valued at less than GBP18 (or is it GBP15 nowadays?)
Advertisement Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Hi Keith (M), Take a look here M7 & Battery Life. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted August 5, 2011 Share #42 Posted August 5, 2011 I think it goes to £15 in November. There's also pressure to close the loophole altogether and there are repeated rumours that it will happen sooner rather than later.
aesop Posted August 6, 2011 Share #43 Posted August 6, 2011 best-before-date: email question before you buy. ...sounds like your assumption is that customer service operations have full visibility of stock/dispatch operations, christer. Personally, I would hesitate to cite that as a norm.
