Stevieozoz Posted July 31, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted July 31, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. I have a fairly new X1 Version 2 and can't get the shifting programme mode function to work. I've put both dials on 'A' and auto focus on the top setting but no shift. The aperture f stop and shutter speed indicators plus shift wheel icon all show on the bottom of the screen but but when I turn the wheel. . . . nothing shifts! I'd be grateful for any ideas. Cheers, Steve
Advertisement Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hi Stevieozoz, Take a look here Shifting Programme Mode - doesn't work!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
HiltonJoy Posted July 31, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted July 31, 2011 No expert on the X-1 but I just tried mine. Initially I had no "shift " icons with both A's selected but then I remembered I had a selection for exposure compensation set. Just check all your selections in the menu and also check that the wheel is properly in a detent when rotating it. Also recycle the on/off button when these have been checked. Also just a thought, do frame a shot and hold the shutter button 1/2 way, then release the shutter, only then do I get the shift function icon and can change using the wheel. Maybe then your shift selection will register. HTH
Stevieozoz Posted July 31, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 31, 2011 Hi and thanks for your response. I tried your suggestion but still no reaction. The wheel works because it lets me do manual focus and flip through photos in play mode so must be something else. Very strange. I notice you live in Hong Kong - - so do I (just moved up from Australia 6 moths ago) - - I bought my X1 from the Leica Shop in Times Square so might be taking it back unless I get this small problem solved. HiltonJoy Posted July 31, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted July 31, 2011 That's it ! Don't use the focus wheel, try the large ring wheel around the 4 buttons. See if that works. Also from Times Square. Really liked the service. We live in Wan Chai and also originally from Aust. Small world. HTH
Stevieozoz Posted July 31, 2011 Author Share #5 Â Posted July 31, 2011 Brilliant, mate! Now why didn't I think of turning the 'other' wheel. Problemo solved, so a BIG thank you! My band Twisted Puppets (also play in HotHouse) is playing at The Wanch on Thursday 11th August around 9.00 pm so if you're around, c'mon on over and I'll buy you a beer. Cheers, Steve.
