Your Old Dog Posted July 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bit the bullet and bought a Leica M 21mm f2.8 Asph 6-Bit, Boxed this morning. I was tired of looking and reading and just wanted to get it done. I likely paid too much but I'm finished with the search. I will likely sell my Canon 50mm 0.95 and MAYBE my 24mm Elmarit ASPH if I'm really taken with the 21ASPH but I have to say, I've really been happy with my 24. Time will tell and thanks to all members who helped me investigate this purchase.

Relent and enjoy I say!! Enjoy your purchase! I'll let you know when I'm in Manhatten next time.... such great photo opps.....next trip is to Bethel the Woodstock site...already got an 8mm fisheye for the view from what was the stage...Nikon not Leica unfortunately!. Enjoy your new M9-P! I've decided to hold out for the M9-Q Life to me is about living in the moment and not to get sick worrying about tomorrow. My Leica toys are my future investment dollars. I'm pretty confident when my need for cash comes along I'll be able to sell off my seldom used equipment for pennies on the dollar But that kind of investing is pretty consistent with my life's philosophy. My financial game plan is to be broke in 5 years and at present I'm about 2 years ahead of schedule! When they plant me I hope there are skid marks up to the grave site. It's been a great ride for me, wish everyone could have the same.

glacierparkmagazine Posted July 23, 2011 Share #5 Posted July 23, 2011 You'll like the lens. I use one a lot. It's brutally sharp (I know, a real scientific term) and the colors are saturated like film. The firmware version 1.6 also fixed its occasional purple fringe issues. The only problem with the lens is you need to use the Leica filter for the hood to fit properly. Other filter brands don't work.
