bohtho Posted February 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have just bought a Digilux 3 from the USA, but I live in Norway. What is the difference of the versions sold in these to regions ? I am worried they are voltage specific because I saw Leica sells extra batteries on their site in three versions too. I hope the camera versions just have different wall socket cables included.

bohtho Posted February 9, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted February 9, 2007 Doesn´t anyone know ? Or is it a stupid question ? I can assure you that the camera is not stolen or that there´s another reason why I need to know this.

By the way, the customer forum relates to non-digital cameras......... The only item that might be voltage specific is the charger. I simple perusal of the specifications in the owner's manual which came with your camera will answer your question. Also, the charger will have a specifications plate, describing what voltage range it will accept. Most of these chargers are self-regulating and will work between 110V and 240V. All you need to obtain is the region-specific plug adapter. Jan
bohtho Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 10, 2007 Oh, sorry, didn´t know this forum wasn´t for digital. Also I am afraid it´s the language barrier that makes me sound rude. Wasn´t meant that way. But I admit I probably was a bit impatient I don´t have the camera in hand yet, that´s why I can´t check out anything myself yet. Just wanted to prepare myself. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts on the subject, Jan. PS! You´re not of Czech heritage by any chance ... ? I am and your name sounded very familiar
doubice Posted February 10, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 10, 2007 You´re not of Czech heritage by any chance ... ? I am and your name sounded very familiar Thomas, Or is it ' Tomáš ' ? Yes, born and bred in Prague, since 1968 in Canada. You are correct, ' Dvořák ' cannot be anything but Czech and I do love his music too....... As to the Digilux 3, all you will have to obtain is a wall socket adapter. To cure your anxiousness - here is a link to Digilux specifications, manual etc. Leica Camera AG - Photography - Digilux 3 All the best, Jan
bohtho Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted February 10, 2007 Ok, thanks for the link. My last name is Böhm by the way. But my grandfather´s mother was a Kubicek. My grandfather moved to Bavaria from Brno, and later with my father to Norway. I spent last summer in South Bohemia, Brno and Prague in a rented Skoda listening to Smetana. I just recently found Staropramen Beer here in Norway. I love your beer and your country .

Thomas, Driving through southern Bohemia and listening to Smetana's Moldau (Vltava) is an experience I have enjoyed many times. Unfortunately, the river Moldau is far from Smetana's poetic interpretation these days. Many hydroelectric dams, no more ' Saint John's ' rapids....... one really needs a lot of imagination to hear the river in Smetana's music today.
