stanfordu Posted July 15, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just noticed a very faint coffee colored ring on LCD. Not seen on any images. I am left eye dominant. Any cures or forget about it.
Advertisement Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Hi stanfordu, Take a look here M8.2 LCD. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gerard Posted July 15, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2011 Forget about it. It doesn't affect performance (especially as the M8/.2 in not a great camera for the chimper in the first place). Store the camera in cool dry conditions, and you may well find it disappears after a while. The two conditions it is know to occur in is damp or direct sunlight, so a dry vented bag is perfect. My 'ring' vanished a few weeks after I noticed it.

sfokevin Posted July 17, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2011 It may or may not go away or it also might get worse... It's a nuisance that gets in the way of checking the histogram or chimping and will affect the resale value if you decide to sell... If you have a warranty from the Leica/seller I would have them fix it - Or if no warranty email Leica and ask them your options (If you pay Leica to fix it I believe they give you a new 1 year warranty on the whole camera) Here is another thread with more info: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/153817-coffee-ring-my-lcd-screen.html
