Double Negative Posted July 14, 2011 Share #21 Posted July 14, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 2.8/90 Elmarit M too. Beautiful lens. But I bought it to take pictures with, just like my cameras and lenses that have in total gone down in value since I bought them. Like you did, and like yours have, probably. Doesn't worry us though because they were not bought as a financial investment, so when one does go up let's not kid ourselves that it was a good investment. LOL! So true. It's not like I plan on selling the lens. Let's just say... "If I HAD to, I COULD and actually MAKE some money."

DucS2R Posted July 19, 2011 Share #23 Posted July 19, 2011 I bought a used but basically NIB titanium M6 as an investment about 10 years ago. Well I actually bought it as a user but never used it, given a standard M6. I was lucky enough to almost get my investment out of it s a trade on an M9 a few months ago. I think digital cameras are even worse as an investment. Buy them and use them quick, they become obsolete and I do not expect them to ever become collectors as the M3 and M2 may again become.
