prager Posted July 10, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted July 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Shtttt....just when I want to take my x1 for my holliday, suddely my flash keep popping up. I almost never use that thing!! It seems to me as it is made for a cheap plasic camera. It sounds even cheap when i try putting it down. The worst thing is, I can't switch it off. I can only switch it of by holding it down with my finger or I have to put some tape over it. I think I will send it to Solms and when they charge me for the repair, I will sell it as doon as possible and buy myself a x100 or the new Pen. !!! Advertisement Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Hi prager, Take a look here pop up flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
donalrey Posted July 11, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted July 11, 2011 sorry to hear that. i had the same problem. i brought it back to the shop where i bought it from. they had to send it back to leica. i ended up paying around $200 to get it fix. i thought it was part of the warranty but apparently it wasn't. the warranty seems pretty pointless. andybarton Posted July 11, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted July 11, 2011 If it's within the warranty period, I would be amazed if this wasn't fixed through that.
wda Posted July 11, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted July 11, 2011 Unless there is some obvious user-damage, Leica should repair this under the warranty.

Sgt93 Posted July 12, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted July 12, 2011 If this camera is in warranty and has a faulty flash that was not a user created problem, I would be shocked if Leica did not repair it under warranty. In fact, I would never buy from them again if they did not cover it. What would a warranty be for!?
Ivan Muller Posted July 20, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted July 20, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mine started doing the same even though I hardly ever used it..... I just stick a small piece of flattened match stick in one side and it stays put....... Â Actually quite shocked that the first camera to 'malfunction' since 2004 when I went digital should be the Leica and not any of my mass produced 'cheap' Canon's........makes you wonder... Â And I am not even mentioning all the dust that I have on my sensor........!!
Douglas Carroll Posted July 25, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted July 25, 2011 Mine did the same thing, started acting up while I was in the Gobi desert in Mongolia. Oh well, I just held it down with my finger and then my Leica dealer returned it to Leica for a repair under warranty. Hopefully this isn't going to be a reoccurring problem with my X1. Aside from that little problem, I love my X1!!! Â Douglas
