Guest Zolototruboff Posted July 9, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today, July 9 at 3:00 am (Moscow time), two masked men hacked shop's metal shutter-door, kicked the glass door with a sledgehammer and broke into the shop Leica on Leninsky Prospekt. After breaking all the showcases, they stole part of the technique, which was in the store. Thieves coped for 1,5 minutes. When the posse arrived, the scene was empty. Video showed that. At 10 am, as usual, our guys came to work. They could not believe theirs eyes. Until now, the whole team comes into a state of shock. k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 9, 2011 Share #3 Posted July 9, 2011 I "knew" this would happen. In fact, I wonder why it took so long ... Dozens of photoshops and jewellers in our area were visited this way by those bastards in the past. Now they turned home. Good luck GEORG

ChiILX1 Posted July 11, 2011 Share #6 Posted July 11, 2011 Thankfully they were stupid and didn't clean you guys completely out! It's interesting to look at post robbery photos and see several $7k cameras and rare lenses untouched 3 inches behind open, broken glass.
Guest Zolototruboff Posted July 11, 2011 Share #7 Posted July 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thankfully they were stupid and didn't clean you guys completely out! It's interesting to look at post robbery photos and see several $7k cameras and rare lenses untouched 3 inches behind open, broken glass. There were thick glass installed on showcases, making it difficult for burglars to break them up. Thiefs robbed entirely those showcases that were broken from the first fall of the hammer (as video shown). Such as showcase with S2 was defeated in part, and the robbers apparently did not dare to mess with it cause they have been limited by time. Like in the ekspereiment about a monkey and an apple in a glass jar.

AlanG Posted July 19, 2011 Share #11 Posted July 19, 2011 The first suspects the police should check out are those desperate Leica owners who have been on waiting lists for lenses.

bbbonthemoon Posted July 19, 2011 Share #13 Posted July 19, 2011 it's not a problem to buy any Leica lens in Moscow, 35-50 lux, nocti, etc - easily available, but the problem is that, even official shops sell it at ebay buyout prices.
