robert blu Posted August 4, 2011 Share #61 Â Posted August 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ergonomics are a lot personal taste. What some hate other may love.....Comparing it to a DSLR doesntmake sense IMO, because the x1 is much smaller - thats the whole idea about this camera. Â Well said, they are different cameras with different characteristics aimed to different use and different users. Just my opinion. robert
Advertisement Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hi robert blu, Take a look here My initial review of the Leica X1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carbon_dragon Posted August 5, 2011 Share #62 Â Posted August 5, 2011 What would happen to your opinions on the X1 if Leica changed the lens mount to a normal M mount -- possibly including a new version of the current lens also in an M mount? tc4237 Posted August 7, 2011 Share #63  Posted August 7, 2011 If that happens, disadvantages: 1. Automation/AF would be a problem. (Newer + more expensive lenses from Leica + unknown reliability of lenses from leica since Leica would be "new to this" type of manufacturing/engineering) 2. Body would not be configured perfectly for 1 type of lens since M-mount = interchangeability  Hard to tell until we see the actual thing, but at this moment, until proven wrong, I'd rather get an M-9 if that's the case... Sgt93 Posted August 20, 2011 Author Share #66 Â Posted August 20, 2011 I used this camera extensively while in St. Croix for the past few weeks. It's a great little camera but the AF could be slightly faster, a view finder would be amazing, and a sub 2.0 lens would have me giddy. I hope to post a few sample pics when I get 2 seconds to myself.

tnturnerx1 Posted January 1, 2012 Share #68 Â Posted January 1, 2012 I don't like cameras hanging around my neck and I'm terrified of dropping the X1 without using the neck strap supplied in the box. I bought the expensive Leica wrist strap and it is truly wonderful and secure. I highly recommend it.
