My initial review of the Leica X1

Ergonomics are a lot personal taste. What some hate other may love.....Comparing it to a DSLR doesntmake sense IMO, because the x1 is much smaller - thats the whole idea about this camera.

 

Well said, they are different cameras with different characteristics aimed to different use and different users. Just my opinion.

If that happens, disadvantages:

1. Automation/AF would be a problem. (Newer + more expensive lenses from Leica + unknown reliability of lenses from leica since Leica would be "new to this" type of manufacturing/engineering)

2. Body would not be configured perfectly for 1 type of lens since M-mount = interchangeability

 

Hard to tell until we see the actual thing, but at this moment, until proven wrong, I'd rather get an M-9 if that's the case...

I used this camera extensively while in St. Croix for the past few weeks. It's a great little camera but the AF could be slightly faster, a view finder would be amazing, and a sub 2.0 lens would have me giddy. I hope to post a few sample pics when I get 2 seconds to myself.
