Guest WPalank Posted February 21, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) wow, steve, that's interesting. maybe that's why it's dropped from sight, though available. Genuine Fractals was bought out by onOne software. It is still the product of choice by the pros I know that have to up rez on a regular basis. I took a printing class from Stephen Johnson (Photoshop Hall of Famer and one the first person to use anything close to a digital back) a couple of months ago and we reviewed images under high magnification that had been up rezed by several different products and/or methods. I remember Genuine Fractals being the clear choice. Â @ Volker, With Image Print you are buying profiles from about every paper out there known to man. Also, the profiles are available for each paper under several different lighting conditions. As new papers come out, IP has the profile at their site almost immediately. wparsonsgisnet Posted February 21, 2007 Share #26 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Since I have to make several big prints from a shoot, I get to do this. Â I'll show all the nitty gritty. Â BTW, I will be using the following: M8, B-W 486 filters, studio shoot with strobes, C1with Edmund Ronald Linear LoSat, PS with iCorrect and Neat Image. Lenses are 24, 35 'lux asph, and 50 'lux asph. Everything iso 160 and t-pod.
808 Posted February 21, 2007 Share #27 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Blow Up is pretty good. I like to use it together with Exposure, also from Alien Skin. Â I recently prepared a so-so ~15x10cm (at 300dpi) B&W file for offset printing at ~59x42cm (also, at 300dpi) with Blow Up / Exposure and was somewhat astonished by the result. Guest WPalank Posted February 21, 2007 Share #28 Â Posted February 21, 2007 Bill and others, I just got an e-mail moments ago to go to the onOne software site and download a Beta of Genuine Fractals for free. Seems everyone is taking Adobe's lead these days. It's supposed to run natively on the intel Macs. You can find it here: onOne Software Labs
