Andy, I can see nothing after your post of 1614 in the thread but a ne thing emerged with the posts shown in reverse sequence. I am getting increasingly more baffled

Do you have the Display Mode set to "Linear"?

(Have a look at the top of the page, on the right, just below where it tells you which page in the thread you are. This meeds a screen shot, really, but that will have to wait until I get home)

Sometimes French is clearer than English. Translate into French " I like climbing plants". The two possible meanings are clearly differentiated in French. On the other hand " Mes jumelles grandissent" has two different meanings which require two translations into English. Who'd be a translator.

Is this the post from last night? You posted that at 21:38 and it is visible on the thread.

I can try.......

A) J'aime plantes grimpantes /j'aime, plant grimpant

B) My twins grow up/ my binoculars gros up or something? (I am not sure)

Andy, all the missing posts both in this thread and the French site thread are present on my Mac. The problem is in some way connected with the ipad. Frankly I don't understand it, but then everything to do with computers is a mystery to me. It's a pity because I prefer the ipad for forum use as it seems much quicker. I'm sorry to have troubled you and I will try to get the problem sorted. Meanwhile I'll use the Mac. Alwyn

Andy. I just tried to post. In my Mac but am not sure you got it. The lint is that all the missing posts are visible on the Mac, and the problem seems somehow to be with the iPad. I don't understand it but I don't. understand anything about computers. Sorry to have troubled you. I'll try to get it sorted since I prefer the iPad for this sort of use.

Sorry for all the typing errors.

I had a similar problem to yourself using my ipad a few days ago.If you boot your ipad and tap on the settings ikon. You will see on the right hand column headed GENERAL. at the bottom of the list you will see a tab called RESET ,Tap this and it will open up a reset menu.Tap the top entry RESET ALL SETTINGS and I think you will find this resets the default settings and all should be OK. Connect you Ipad to your system first and make sure you have the latest updates .When your ipad syncs it will back up your ipad files so its easy to restore if anything went wrong.Which is unlikely.

If you would like me to talk you through it send me a PM and I will call you on the phone if it would help.

Alwyn, I once had a problem on another site with posts not showing up. I found I had to continually refresh the site each time to see what I had just posted. You can try this and see if it works: If you are using Safari you will see a little semi circle with an arrow on it at the top of the screen at the right of the address line, just before the Google box. Click it and the page will refresh. Alternatively, just log back in to the site. Technology is great, but some of it is not designed to be simple to use!

All the best and hope you are enjoying your new Leicas.

NZDavid and BrianP, Neither of your posts appeared in the thread itself, but I found them by tapping on "post reply" and scrolling down when a series of posts appeared in reverse order. I simply do not understand. I am reluctant to try anything radical because my iPad behaves very well in all other respects. I did try refresh but with no effect. I'm afraid I shall have to go back to lurking.

The solution I mentioned is not at all radical but if you go into an apple store assuming you have one near or contact them via the phone and explain the problem they will talk you through it.My ipad works perfectly on the forum.Apple are almost fanatical about customers getting 100% from their products. This forum is a great way of learning from some very clever people. You soon pick up on the posts that are worth reading. If I can be of any help send me a personal mail.

Enjoy the forum

Brian

ps Welcome to ReidReviews is worth every penny if you are buying any kit.

I am reading and posting this from my iPad and can see all of the posts in the thread.

I too am beginning to wonder if it's a cache issue.

Alwyn should try going to Settings -> Safari -> Clear cache

I am sorry not to have responded sooner but my new M9P arrived became first call on my attention. Andy's post didn't show up in the thread but I found it by tapping "post reply" and scrolling down to where posts are shown in reverse order. This seems the only way I can be sure of seeing them. I've tried clearing the cache - without having the slightest idea what that means- and also without obvious effect.

I shall be going away on holiday on Monday for two weeks and will pursue the problem when I return. I bought my iPad and Mac from a reseller in Kendal, which is nearby and I am due a one-to-one tutorial I have paid for with their Apple expert. I hope he can sort things. Meanwhile, I will revert to lurking. It seems that the problem arises only when I attempt to post.

Although a computer novice, I have studied Martin Evening and am successfully using Lightroom. It seems only the forum that I can't cope with. For example, I have no idea what all the little icons on the left are for.
