Just jumped myself - all still sitting in the box, sealed in another box. Waiting on viewfinder and half case before I unpack. Purchased wrist strap and spare battery but no hand grip. Really suprised at how much smaller it is in real - for some reason looking at the Steel Grey I mistakenly judged it to be around size of M9 - it's tiny - which is great for taking it EVERYWHERE I go. So, I've been around camera block to return to Leica Street once again. Gone is the Canon EOS 7D with 2 prime L lenses (purchased last last year). This proved to be a nightmare to lug around when travelling. I bought it for autofocus situations and found myself using my M9 - so the X1 should make a wonderful travel companion to both M9 and Vlux (for zoom). That completes my Leica triad. Can barely wait to get out and test drive this little beauty. (never even tried one). :D

Hi, I just love my X1, I'm off to a Corvette show on Sunday,

the X1 will be the main camera, DL4 as emergency backup

& the D300 with 50mm acting as an 80mm

for close ups. The weather promises to be good & sunny therefore

posing some shadow problems, maybe a little fill in flash here & there!

I'm on duty tonight, as long as there are no 911's (some chance) I will be able to plan some shots using last years experience at the show. My assistant this year will be

"she who must be obeyed" who will be loaded down with lots of chilled water bottles

spare cards & batteries & the DL4 etc. etc..
