pico Posted June 24, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Every few months, the University hires a different contract-pro to take pictures of our students/environment and so-forth. Today the new photog came in with his dozen volunteer subjects to take positions in our bar-like collaborative area. The light sucked because it was designed to have their individual laptop and tablets the centre of attention. His camera was some kind of monster DSLR with a lens a big as an arm. He was moving things about to bring in light and I talked to to his assistant at the side and and mentioned, "We have a suite of lighting equipment in this department. He is free to use it. In fact, we have besides strobes with slaves, we have a suite of old-fashion adjustable reflectors with 250W and 500W bulbs. He's welcome to use them." She smiled. She had no freaking idea of what I was speaking of. That photog is going to be jacking up his ISO to 1600 or better to even make a picture. So be it. A couple cases of floodlights are still in reserve - in my name - and I'm taking them back when I retire next week. Look forward to new photographs.
