tuanvo1982 Posted June 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) It is a bad day to me. The aperture ring of my Leica 50mm 1.4 E43 type 2 doesn't work anymore. Once I turn it around, the blade doesn't change. If I try to put it down or pull it up a bit and turn it around then it works but doesn't stop at every half stop. I think the problem with the small ball which is inside of the ring. Even, if I try to screw or unscrew then it seems to be turned around forever. The lens still has around 9 warranty months. It just got serviced at Jan of 2011. I don't want to send it to Germany . Do you have any idea please? Thanks
Advertisement Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hi tuanvo1982, Take a look here Problem with 50 1.4 E43 aperture ring. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ivar B Posted June 16, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2011 The aperture blades is a complex mechanism - I still think you should consider sending in to Leica. The E43 is not a new lens - things like this might happen and I only trust Leica when it comes to lens repairs.
tuanvo1982 Posted June 16, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted June 16, 2011 a screw on the ring is missing. That is the reason. I should find another screw to replace it is a good news. The bad news is that I don't know where I can get it
Xmas Posted June 16, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 16, 2011 Try one of the UK repair people e.g. CRR Luton or Malcolm Taylor... They might have a spare. Noel
