Macro Elmar 90mm f4 and M9

Hi!

 

I just picked up an m9. I like to take macro pictures too. I have been reading so much information and am confused. You were able to get your flower pics with the new macro elmar 90mm and macro adapter? Is this the goggle one or the ring that attaches to the lens? I read that you have to have the live view to make it work. Can this work on the m9? Sorry, if my message is so confusing.

You need the goggled macro Elmar for the M9. Whilst the newer ring would physically fit, you would have no way of focussing the lens, and, due to the small amount of depth of field you have with macro, guessing focus would be pretty useless.

Thank you for the reply DigitalHeMan! I have a couple more questions. Okay, so I need the goggle. Can I buy the goggle and use it with the newer macro elmar 90, because I read somewhere about the new lens having some advantages of focusing close to infinity without taking everything apart?...and whatever other new features it has. Thank you!
