Ruhayat Posted June 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Fotodiox adapter arrived last night. It's pretty well made, with tight tolerances. Haven't taken the combo out for a spin yet, but the match seems good in the hand. Bit bigger than the M version, but at 50% cheaper. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Hi Ruhayat, Take a look here 28mm Elmarit-R lens on Leica M6TTL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnloumiles Posted June 19, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2011 That lens gives the camera an old SLR look. How is it working?
Ruhayat Posted June 21, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted June 21, 2011 Well, in terms of handling I like how the combo balances in my hands, and I actually prefer it to the Elmarit-M I tried in a shop as the focus ring on the larger R version is easier to get to. There's no rangefinder coupling, though, so focusing is hyperfocal or zone focus only, which suits me fine with such a wide lens - makes street shots that much easier to do. Work has been busy so I'm only up to frame 28 of my first roll with it, thus I have no idea how it "looks" yet. Will upload photos once I clear the roll. Ruhayat Posted June 21, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted June 21, 2011 Actually, I only use 28mm when I travel (along with a 90mm Summicron-M), which is quite rarely. Yet the focal length is pretty useful on a roadtrip, and I happen to already have the 28mm Elmarit-R, so I thought the adapter was the best option for me. It's a lot cheaper than getting an M version that I would hardly use.
Ruhayat Posted December 15, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted December 15, 2011 Just in case anyone is interested, here are some sample pics at last from this odd combo. I never took to 28mm on the SLR, but on the rangefinder it just rocks! Welcome, dear visitor!
