Hello,

Just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for the information on the site.

I've had my X1 for just over a week now and loving it. I do have a quick question regarding exposure lock. Is there any way to lock the exposure other than on the focal plane when using the camera in aperture priority mode? I just can't seem to find a way to do this. I know the simple solution is to shoot in full manual which I'm fine with but I sometimes like to shoot with aperture priority.

Regards.

Not sure if this helps as I'm still very new to the X-1 too.

When in spot focus and spot metering, hold the delete / focus button down for 1+ sec.

The active point can then be manually shifted by using the arrow buttons to the required

point. I need to explore this feature more but it holds possibilities. Guess it will depend

on the subject. Or it's easy to lock a manual focus, again just focus and hold the delete / focus button down for 1+ sec. It shows a little padlock symbol. Meter and then reframe.

Holding the button at the half way point will maintain settings but may not suit the new focus point. HTH

Animalchin, Welcome to the Forum and enjoy your new X1.

Holding half-pressure on the shutter release is one way but, frankly, I like the extra freedom afforded by switching to manual control, even for a short time.
