Filters for X1

Hello all, hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend! I have been taking some shots of the family outside and some landscape shots over the weekend and cant help but wonder how much better these shots would have come out if I had an ND filter and a Polarizer filter on my X1. Has anyone used filters for their X1? I currently just have a Kiwi adapter and a Hoya UV filter. What are your thoughts on this and can anyone recommend where to buy the best ND and Polarizing filters that fit the X1? Thanks in advance.

I have never felt the need for ND filters. However it is possible to improvise with a polarizer filter by holding it in front of the lens, taking care not to obstruct sensor cells. It works easier on a digital rangefinder, but it can come in handy occasionally. Although it may seem lazy, it is surprising how much you can do in post-processing to simulate the effect of gradation or colour lens filters, providing the subject is right in the first place.

I have both a Hoya UV filter and a polarizer for my X1. It's either one of them that's nearly always on my camera. I keep the uv filter on when indoors even at very low light, since i just hate taking the cap on and off and would still like to protect my lens. No trouble then. On sunny days for outdoor shots I screw on the Hoya polarizer filter. I have no experience with ND filters, but would love one for those very sunny days where you'd still want some wide open shots. Haven't tried any yet though.
