Bo_Lorentzen Posted February 4, 2007 Share #1  Posted February 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since there is not yet so much information yet for those of us enjoying the Digilux 3, I thought this might be of interest,  I have the Olympus 4:3 system 8mm lens for panorama photography and was playing with it photographing out the window, the comparison shots are all captured at about 18 inches from the window, yet the lens manages to capture the full window, for comparison I changed to the Leica "KIT" lens and shot a frame at 14mm wide and at 50mm tele.   Bo  My Leica scratch page - random thoughts , pictures and such. Bo_Lorentzen Posted February 5, 2007 Author Share #6  Posted February 5, 2007 Riley - now you know what it does. Actually I have not had time to make a bracket for the lens yet, but I suspect that once I get it mounted correctly in the nodal point at a angle so the diagonal of the frame is perfectly vertical.. it will be very close to 180+ degrees diagonally, with a little luck I will be able to pull a spherical panorama out of it with 4 captures around...  Sean - hey with such a great taste in bikes you can not be all bad. (smile)  Its really a fun lens, thought not particularly suited for portraits so to speak. But it does get a lot in.   Bo  My Leica scratch page - random thoughts , pictures and such. dist Posted February 8, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted February 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for posting this - I'm lusting for the 8mm as well. Please keep us posted about the panorama endeavour. Did any kind of information about nodal point position come with the lens? (don't think so...) If not, this is going to be a trial-and-error thing - so please report whatever findings you make, much appreciated. Thanks!
