likealeica Posted May 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Most of you DLux5 people may already know this, but I thought some might find it interesting. After 2 years with my DLux 4, my new DLux5 arrived yesterday. I immediately attached the hand grip and set the shutter volume to high. Then I took some shots and wondered why I couldn't hear the shutter click. Just by coincidence, I took off the hand grip and lo, audible shutter sound. Then I realized that the hand grip covers the speaker on the bottom of the camera, making the sound for those of us who are somewhat hearing impaired anyway, virtually inaudible. Advertisement Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Hi likealeica, Take a look here Dlux5 shutter volume, handgrip. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted May 26, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 26, 2011 Well to be honest there is no shutter on the DL/LX 5 or any other P&S camera with live view. It is only a sound that is being played @ the taking of a image. And also most don't want that sound at all!! That is why some didn't like the M8, shutter to loud. c.d.ewen Posted May 26, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2011 I've thought about drilling a small hole in the handgrip, to allow the sound to be heard. When I shoot my wife, she complains, "How will I know you've taken a picture, if I can't hear the shutter?" Shooting wives is such fun Charley
