thighslapper Posted March 24, 2012 Share #21 Â Posted March 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) "having the right length in your bag is not as good as having it on the camera." Â I agree wholeheartedly...... although the Leica M system is great in many ways it is easy to lose the 'moment' in a frantic scramble to change lenses...... Advertisement Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Hi thighslapper, Take a look here Leica MATE on M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
billib Posted March 24, 2012 Share #22  Posted March 24, 2012 The only way I would ever sell the MATE is if Leica released an improved version. Right now the MATE is the main lens for what I primarily shoot. If I shot Super Wide Angle I'd add a WATE. Welcome, dear visitor! Guest stanjan0 Posted March 27, 2012 Share #23 Â Posted March 27, 2012 I bought a Mate (Version 1) in September 2011 for my 70 day cruise of the Pacific, from Russia around Australia some Pacific islands then home to California. I took about 2000 images and for the most part I used the Wate on my M9 to great satisfaction. When I arrived home I sent my Wate to Leica New Jersey for adjustment, I have since bought a type 2 Wate with the 49MM front lens and also sent it to Leica New Jersey.I can't criticize the Mate V1 in any way it stood me well for about 2000 images on my trip.
