macjim Posted June 14, 2011 Share #21 Posted June 14, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) (dickgrafixstop) Yeah, me too, what does that mean? I may have paid more for the D-Lux 5 than I would have for the Panasonic LX5, but I wouldn't have the style and look of the Leica. It's much better looking, clean and uncluttered and has a much better warranty cover. And it holds it's value too, just check out any dealer and you will in most cases find it's still at the full price, when other brands have come down in price. likealeica Posted June 27, 2011 Author Share #22 Posted June 27, 2011 Since I started this thread several weeks ago, I gave away my DLux4 to a dear brother, bought the DLux 5 with Leica Viewfinder, didn't like Dlux 5 nearly as much as the 4 (lens sharpness, noise, zoom,)... Sold the DLux 5 after two weeks, and bought an X1. Wonderful camera. Using a Leitz 28mm finder which is close enought. Shots at 1600 ISO are fantastic. Also played with a used M8 for a week. Manualo exposure and manual focusing isn't fun anymore.o When I want that, I'll drag out an M3. Much easier to focus, and full frame besides. Maybe moreo reliable too, even 60 years later?
