moonbow at Yosemite Falls

Yosemite National Park. This is a phenomenon that apparently happens only when there is a full moon. For a brief minute or so, the moonlight is refracted by the waterfall where the water cascades off the Lower Yosemite Falls, creating this "moonbow." This is the first time I ever witnessed this. I didn't even know if I could photograph it.

BTW, the Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in North America, it has Upper and Lower Falls where Lower Falls is twice the height of Niagara Falls.

K.H., Geoff, and Paul,

Thank you so much for looking in and for your kind comments. This is certainly not an accomplished image but I believe it is unique enough to warrant sharing and I am happy to hear that you liked it.

Next time (if there is a next time) I'll show up with a tripod, to do better.

Robert, somehow your name was left out of my earlier thank you message. I am very appreciative of your remarks and happy that I could bring this event here and share it with my friends and fellow forum members.

K.-H., Thank you, again, for all the support and encouragement. It means a lot.
